Nick Verkroost is an experienced operator in the early stage tech sector where he helps founders to build businesses. Trained as an engineer before spending his early career as a strategy consultant, Nick has gone on to experience both sides of the startup Board table, initially as a venture capitalist building a MediaTech portfolio for the Thomson Family, and subsequently as Chief Operating Officer of the B2B SaaS startup Seenit developing a platform for mobile video content creation. Nick joined Seenit very early in their journey, and within 3 years had scaled the team to 40 people, pivoted the business to an enterprise SaaS model and expanded sales into Europe and the US where he worked with global customers including HSBC, Accenture, and Comcast. As Chief Operating Officer, his main role was to be the business partner to the Founder CEO, which included building the commercial engine of the business, putting in place the operational processes that enabled the company to scale, and successfully completing several rounds of funding.
Nick met Seenit during his time building the DC Thomson Ventures investment vehicle, targeting investments at Seed and Series A stage in the MediaTech space including notable successes such as PlayCanvas which exited to Snapchat, and investing in the Seedcamp accelerator fund (TransferWise, UiPath). Today, Nick is advising a number of early-stage businesses while he explores his next role.
